I wanted to send my thanks to the great team at Tourism Toronto with special thanks to Indira Murli our main coordinator. From our initial site visit to coordinating our last minute details, Tourism Toronto was there every step of the way making the experience so much easier for us.
Thanks so much guys, it was a real treat to work with such a professional organization. We were lacking in nothing but extra time to really polish the rough edges, and should you have been able, I am sure that you would have provided us with that too.
Well done, Michael

I wanted to thank you again for your recommendations. We had the opportunity to have some great meals. We ended up at a quiet sushi bar. Great sushi and Kirin.
The more upscale restaurants we went to were FABULOUS and I’d highly recommend. Bistro Pop was my favorite. It was a 10 minute cab ride from the hotel, but worth it. It’s a small place and the waiter is the chef and co-owner. It was the best meal in Toronto.
I stayed at the Renaissance at the Blue Jay’s stadium. The stadium opens at 5:30am for runners (the “track” is actually running around one of the concourses, but it was pretty cool).
It is a beautiful city. It was easy to get around and even though it was cold, I enjoyed the walk from the Renaissance to the Sheraton.
Thanks again for your time and recommendations. It must be a pleasure to represent such a wonderful city with kind, hospitable people.

Have yet to find a hotel clerk that has been so helpful

We had some luggage challenges during our travels to Toronto and for a few days after arrival. However this situation was definitely improved by the actions of a front desk clerk, Tammy, at the Sheraton Centre Toronto.

We had some luggage challenges during our travels to Toronto and for a few days after arrival. However this situation was definitely improved by the actions of a front desk clerk, Tammy, at the Sheraton Centre Toronto.
Prior to our departure in Denver, a contract employee error resulted in tagging our luggage for shipment to El Paso, Texas. During our check-in at the Sheraton Centre Toronto I mentioned to the front desk clerk that we were expecting three (3) bags to be delivered by the airlines, at least one (1) sometime that evening and the other two (2) most likely on Sunday. She expressed her concern at the situation, mentioned that she would send vanity kits to our room to assist us and asked if she could see the airline lost bag report.
Shortly after arrival in our rooms she called to inform us the vanity kits were on the way, and to inquire if there was anything else she could do for us at that time. She also mentioned that if we needed to procure any items for our comfort that the Eaton Centre was still open and she was certain we could find most anything we needed. A short time later she called back to inform me that the closing time of the Eaton Centre, and of course to inquire if there was anything additional she could do for us, to include transportation somewhere as she was leaving work soon.
Approximately 30 minutes later we received a call from her cell phone, she had discovered as she drove home that the Eaton Centre had not closed at 6 PM as she had been told, and that she had stopped and inquired about the correct time. Later in the evening, after we returned from shopping at the Eaton Center and from dinner we found a message from her informing us that she had contacted the airlines and she provided us the updated status of the three bags. Additionally, she informed us that she had requested that some robes be delivered to our rooms.
The bags did not arrive on Sunday, nor were they delivered during the day on Monday. However, after returning from dinner Monday we did see the message light and were elated to hear Tammy’s voice as she apologized for the bag situation and for not getting back to us sooner, but that she had been off work Monday. An additional message on the phone from the bell desk informed us that they had three bags and could they deliver them at that time.
Fran and I have traveled for many years to many cities and hotels around the US, Canada, Europe, Panama, Vietnam, Japan and Australia and have yet to find a hotel clerk that has been so helpful and gone so far beyond what should be expected of a position in her position. This reflects well on Tammy as a person, the Sheraton Centre Toronto, and the city of Toronto where she lives and works. The friendly helpful manner she displayed and the assistance she provided gave us comfort, eased our frustrations of the moment and assisted in making our initial arrival comfortable.

Thank you to Tourism Toronto and all of the staff at the MTCC. Toronto is a fabulous city for a convention. There is terrific shopping, beautiful atrractions, great restaurants, and it's easy to get around. Our attendees (over 18,000) loved it. Whether you have a large or small meeting, Toronto can handle it. We had no problems with customs and all of our materials arrived on time. The staff at the hotels, MTCC and with Tourism Toronto are some of the best I have ever worked with. A real pleasure!

There's a real community feel. That is a real benefit for planners working with the bureau, because everyone's working toward the same goal.

If I were looking to pick bureaus in
North America , I'd put
Tourism Toronto in the top five. I think they market the city very well, and as a city they work well together.
