March Break in Toronto-Get in on the action
Toronto, ON – March Break in Toronto offers a full calendar of events, shows and attractions to keep kids and parents alike intrigued and entertained. Affordable packages and specials make it easier to explore new adventures and rediscover a familiar place.
“With only seven short days to pack in as much excitement possible, Toronto is a hub of activity this spring break,” said David Whitaker, President and CEO of Tourism Toronto. “This year’s line up of events invigorates the imagination and is set to inspire great travel experiences.”
March Break Toronto adventures start with:
• Canada Blooms – From March 12-16 the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building is in full bloom. The Toronto Flower and Garden Festival will dazzle the family with all-day creative displays of colour, texture and fragrances designed by Canada’s best landscaping talents. The Green Playground by the Ontario Toyota Dealers will engage kids in the wonders of nature as they experience this innovative garden playspace designed just for children by Gardens for Living. Kids will learn the art of painting garden pots, planting seeds and follow worms as they make soil. Spring is in the air at www.canadablooms.com.
• Art Gallery of Ontario –Creativity is unleashed at the AGO each Sunday until March 16th through Smörgåsbord series at the Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School from 2pm- 4pm. During these art-filled days, families can draw on various inspirations such as Yoga, Whimsy and Wonder. General admission fees apply $15 for kids and $18 for adults. • Casa Loma – From March 8-16 celebrate March Break at a real castle. Daily performances from pirates and buccaneers 10:30am- 2pm, interactive displays and strolling characters provide an exciting getaway in the heart of the city. Catch the Pirate Baron’s mystical magic show, Long John Strong’s incredible feats of juggling, or follow the lead of Pirate guides on a treasure hunt through the castle halls. • CN Tower - Buy one CN Tower admission package at $33 and get another one FREE. • Hockey Hall of Fame – Have your photo taken with NHL Trophies, get your favourite hockey legends signature, or hear tales from the ‘Official Keeper of the Cup’. • Kortright Maple Syrup Festival – Celebrate March Break with the 40th anniversary from March 10- 14. Tap into nature and enjoy free maple syrup demonstrations, all-day creative crafts, horse-drawn wagon rides from 10am-4pm, pony rides at a small fee from 10am- 4pm, and pancakes with maple syrup. • McMichael Gallery – Free March Break Madness special programming with the cost of regular admission welcomes children to draw up a storm with daily inspirations like The Group of Seven and enjoy entertaining songs and performances by special guests. Interactive and exciting, the Discovery Gallery, Gallery of Hands-On Biodiversity and Dinosaur Exhibit will get the entire family pumped about learning. • Toronto Botanical Gardens - March 10-14 children aged 6-10 can get down and dirty with slugs and bugs; draw, paint and mold clay into nature art; plant their own take-home starter garden and go squirrel-watching in the forest during the interactive and educational March Break camps. • Toronto Zoo –With more than 5,000 animals representing over 460 species, families will have fun seeing familiar favourites while discovering exotic and new creatures. From March 7-16 see the animals in action thanks to the cooler weather of March. Check out the fun and interactive FROGZIBITZ in honour of the year of the frog.
