Woodbine

Fearnaught. Troutlet. Northern Dancer. These are names spoken with reverence at Woodbine Racetrack. All three have won the Queen’s Plate, North America’s oldest stakes race.  Queen Victoria herself ponied up the original 50 guinea purse for the first race back in 1860. Today the purse stands at $1 million. Thoroughbred racing is a time-honoured tradition in Toronto and the track’s stands echo with the shouts of the fans throughout the racing season.
