Toronto Zoo
On August 15, 2004, the Toronto Zoo celebrated its 30th birthday. Since opening its gates, the Zoo has done its best to place animals in their natural environments. The 710-acre park is divided into six geographic regions that simulate Indo-Malaya, Africa, the Americas, Australasia, Eurasia and the Canadian Domain.
Families can discover many of the larger animals roaming in spacious outdoor paddocks, while the smaller ones can be found in climate-controlled pavilions.
There are plenty of information sessions throughout the day, which include special feedings and animal demonstrations. Plus, in May 2004 the final phase of the Zellers Discovery Zone was completed. Geared towards children, the section includes a water-park, theatre, and kids’ zoo.
