The Danforth/Greektown
In the 1950s the Greek community, swollen by immigration following the war, moved into the Danforth area and made it their own. Shouts of “Opa!” emerge from restaurant windows in the summer months, wafting through the air along with the scent of garlic and rosemary.
Major Event
“The Taste of the Danforth” is an annual summer festival that draws thousands of people to sample bite-sized morsels from the local restaurants.
