Rogers Centre
Everyone who approaches the Rogers Centre from the north gets heckled. The abuse is heaped in silence by Canadian artist Michael Snow’s sculpture of “The Audience”. It has oversized representations of fans leering down from the side of the stadium expressing their love of the game. The Rogers Centre is home to two of Toronto’s professional sports teams, the Blue Jays of Major League Baseball’s American League and the Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. It also hosts everything from wrestling matches to the Canadian International Autoshow.
Interesting Fact
The Rogers Centre hosted the world’s largest author reading. J.K. Rowling held over 12,000 children and adults enthralled with a reading from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on October 24, 2000.
