Distillery District
Founded in 1832, this was once the largest distillery in the British Empire. Its Victorian industrial architecture has been transformed into an exciting new entrant on the Toronto arts and entertainment scene. The Distillery is home to artists, theatre companies and galleries. Plus, an organic brewery. It hosts a jazz festival, farmers’ markets and art shows throughout the year. The site offers tours that reveal its fermented past.
Major Event
Good fun in the Distillery District isn’t limited to those on two legs. Dogs have their day too. Woofstock is the first outdoor festival for dogs – and their owners. There’s a Miss and Mr. Canine Canada Pageant, Stupid Dog Tricks, and even an owner-dog look-a-like contest.
