Cabbagetown
Cabbagetown is a delight to walk around as you take in the many Victorian houses with their historical plaques. There are plenty of parks, Riverdale Farm and the Necropolis, a history-rich cemetery. Many famed Torontonians including William Lyon Mackenzie, Toronto’s first mayor and leader of the Upper Canada Rebellion, and world champion oarsman Ned Hanlan are buried there.
Major Event
The Cabbagetown Festival is the neighbourhood’s annual celebration with tours of historical homes, motorcycle- riding demonstrations and an outdoor art show.
