Antiquing in Toronto
It doesn’t take long to find an antique shop in Toronto. There are hundreds of stores dotted across the city, but there are several hotbeds that shouldn’t be missed.
On Mount Pleasant Road, south of Eglinton Avenue, there are numerous antique stores. Bernardi’s Antiques and Sharon O’Dowd Antiques, just to name a couple.
More than 25 vendors have set up shop at the Toronto Antique Centre on King Street. Here they offer everything from estate jewelry, to old signs, to Persian rugs.
Queen Street East, in the heart of Leslieville, is home to an eclectic group of stores. All Most Antiques has dozens of unique chandeliers crowding its ceiling above the furniture. And not to be missed is Ethel, where cool pieces from the fifties and sixties gleam.
Yonge Street, between the Rosedale and Summerhill subway stations, is where some of Toronto’s finest antique shops can be found. These are the stores for superior finds of Canadiana and other fine pieces from around the world.
The Sunday Antique Market in the St. Lawrence Market’s north building is a browser’s delight. It has almost 100 vendors laying out their wares on a weekly basis.
