2008 Highlights

Sports have always been a big part of life in Toronto, but 2008 has taken the Hogtown sports experience to new heights. Fans of men’s tennis, professional golf and NFL football (that’s right, NFL football!) will marvel at this year’s line-up of adrenaline-pumping events.

From July 19th to 27th, the Rexall Centre will host the biggest names in men’s tennis for the coveted title of the Rogers Cup. Excitement is guaranteed and if you recall last years surprising finals upset, you’ll know that anything can happen at the Rogers Cup.

There truly is something for everyone in Toronto. Soccer, and futbol, fans will marvel at the skill of MLS's All Stars as they challenge West Ham United on the pitch on July 24th - a game not to be missed.

Witness some of the world’s greatest golf at the 2008 RBC Canadian Open a week long challenge of 156 professional and amateurs, such as PGA Tour exempt players, non-exempt but qualifying players, the Canadian Amateur champion and runner up and players given exemption by the Royal Canadian Golf Association. Don’t miss the opportunity to catch a glimpse of one of your fave’s from July 21st to July 27th at Glen Abbey Golf Club, just a 25 minute drive from the city.

The NFL is coming to Canada in full force. Join history in the making as the Buffalo Bills bring NFL Football to Rogers Centre for eight games over the next five years. The only way to be a part of the excitement at the opening kick off is by registering online through the Bills in Toronto site to the no obligation ticket list. Once you do, you'll receive full information on game dates and pricing packages before tickets become available. If NFL action on Canadian turf has long been your dream, register before it’s too late! The first pre-season game will be on August 14th - the Buffalo Bills vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.
