Enjoy a well-heeled bit of fun uptown.

Need a fix of glamour and chic? It doesn’t cost to look. Browse through Yorkdale Mall’s upscale urban shopping streetscape under a 60 foot high glass atrium, with smart shops like Holt Renfrew, Sephora, Lululemon and Apple. There are over 240 stores of high-end retail rapture. Craving more? Saunter a little north-east to Bayview Village, where 200 specialty shops and restaurants offer posh wares, often from one-of-a-kind stores.

Step into the serenity of the Gibson House Museum, and into the lives of the Gibson family who lived there in 1851 through exhibits, interactive games and dressup. For more recent history, the Holocaust Education and Memorial Centre portrays the experiences of European Jews before, during and after World War II with artifacts and films.

If there’s snow on the ground, you can be sure there’s skiing at the North York Ski Centre in Earl Bales Park at Bathurst and Sheppard. You can schuss to your heart’s content with day and night skiing on three intermediate slopes – all accessible by TTC.

But if your speed is more a gallop or canter, try Sunnybrook Stables a little south-east. Open year ’round, you can book lessons in English riding in both Hunter and Dressage on an excellent selection of school horses, by experienced, well-qualified coaches.

Perhaps a refined evening suits your fancy – take in a performance at the Toronto Centre for the Arts, with its 1,727 seat Main Stage Theatre or more intimate George Weston Recital Hall. As the soothing strains of a concerto or chorale wash over you, life rarely sounded – or felt – better.
