Major changes are underway at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), one of North America’s finest art museums. The AGO is engaged in a major expansion of its facility. Designed by renowned Toronto native Frank Gehry. The AGO will close to the public the fall of 2007 to re-install its galleries. The entire transformation project is expected to be complete in 2008.The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) is engaged in a major transformation of its facility. Designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry, it includes an expansion of 97,000 square feet, more than 10,000 new works of art and a 47 per cent increase in art viewing space.
The AGO will remain open throughout spring and summer 2007, with Emily Carr: New Perspectives on a Canadian Icon on now to May 20, and a remarkable summer exhibitions which will include the newly acquired Bernini sculpture Corpus, the recently repatriated Dundas Collection and works from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
The AGO will temporarily close effective October 8, 2007 to begin reinstalling art for its mid-2008 grand re-opening.

The AGO is located at 317 Dundas Street West, at the corner of Dundas and McCaul streets, a short walk west (3 blocks) from St. Patrick Station or take the 505 Dundas Street streetcar and exit at the AGO stop.
